Dennis d’Eschambault and Leonard Streilein started D.D. Leobard Winery in 2000. Their immediate success has allowed them to become Manitoba’s only commercial winery. With more than 30 years experience, D.D. Leobard had mastered the art of making fruit wine. With flavours such as blueberry, chokecherry, and Birch sap, D.D. Leobard had captured the essence of Manitoba and had become an award winning winery, with product available throughout Manitoba, Canada, and the world.
Sadly, DD Leobard officially closed their doors in 2010. More sadly for us, as business meetings were always followed by a modest sample of some of the best tasting wine.
DD Leobard released a limited run, of what some would say was, was the best tasting red wine they had ever tried. A custom mix of Argentine Cabernet, Merlot, and Shiraz, Red Tuque was a huge success.
Vincent Design had the honour or creating this custom wine label. Tradition, Voyageurs, Fur Trade, history; all these terms were tossed around during the creation of the label.
