Sharing Strengths, Empowering Communities: The Gathering of Children’s Programs conference
A team consisting of members of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs and the First Nations & Inuit Health staff convened the initial Maternal Child Health (MCH) Sharing Circle which was held from October 2 – 4, 2007 at the Victoria Inn in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The event was managed and facilitated by Little Black Bear & Associates.
The objective of the October 2007 Sharing Circle was to provide the 16 First Nation communities, now implementing their own MCH programs, an opportunity to share knowledge and information, to collaborate, to build their team, and to plan for the future. As a result, 16 First Nation communities developed Action Plans for their respective communities within the scope of the Maternal Child Health Program.
Commissioned by Little Black Bear & Associates, our challenge was to create an identity for the event, while using the current logos and identities of the participating organizers and organizations. The result was a bright, fun and memorable event for the participants and attendees.
