The University of Manitoba Press, a leading publisher of Indigenous literature, commissioned us to provide the cover design and layout for the newest book by Labrador Innu cultural and environmental activist Tshaukuesh Elizabeth Penashue.
Approach
Working closely with the author and editor, we carefully and thoughtfully helped to present the diary and images of Nitinikiau Innusi: I Keep the Land Alive, a powerful documentation of the Innu struggle to keep and protect their land.

The final cover design and layout of this paperback edition puts Penashue’s evocative words and beautiful images at centre stage; the style, fonts and formatting are simple, clean and consistent throughout to perfectly complement the strength of her story.
