Briefing

BMO wanted to bring their Indigenous Partnerships and Progress Report to life. The goal was to publish an annual report, meaningfully highlighting customers and communities while advancing three pillars: economic empowerment, education, and employment.

Approach

Our concept draws from the bison— a symbol of respect, resilience, and connection to land. We translated its cultural and practical significance into visuals that reflect strength, movement, and continuity, grounding the report in Indigenous worldview and contemporary design.

Result

The final report uses layered illustration and architectural motifs to express building and progress. Tipis, sea walls, and circular graphic elements create a cohesive narrative that honours Indigenous creativity, reinforces relationship-building, and elevates BMO’s stories with clarity and impact.
