Briefing
Many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit cancer patients can face barriers in the cancer care system. Recognizing one of those barriers was a deficit of information for healthcare providers, CancerCare Manitoba needed help to put information in place for CancerCare Community Profiles.
Approach
Our design and development teams consulted with CancerCare team members and Indigenous partners to understand how to present the necessary information both visually and in a way that made sense for the healthcare providers accessing it.

Client
Result
A design motif was created that includes a medicine wheel and the representation of sacred teachings. Elements from the larger motif can be used to uniquely enhance the wordmark and draw attention to specific programs, messages, or events associated with the Community Profiles. A custom Google map using info from a data set of communities leads to practical and useful information about and resources and services available.
